Robert Burke is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Par-Four. He is responsible for risk management and heads Par-Four’s Investment Committee. Mr. Burke brings over thirty-seven years of experience in the credit markets to the firm. Since founding Par-Four in 2003, Mr. Burke has managed various credit hedge funds and structured credit funds. In addition, he has held seats on the Boards of Directors for various companies both public and private. He has experience in credit analysis, leveraged loan syndication, high yield bond origination and distribution, risk mitigation, structured securitization and distressed restructurings sitting on various creditors committees.
Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Burke spent twenty years working in various roles at investment banks. From 1996 through 2002, Mr. Burke held the position of Global Head of High Yield, Distressed, and Leveraged Loan Sales at Lehman Brothers. Before joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Burke held positions in High Yield and Leveraged Loans, as well as Liability Management at Kidder Peabody and Dean Witter. He graduated from Villanova University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
Mr. Labrenz is responsible for the financial, operational and administrative management of the Investment Manager. He is instrumental in the development, implementation and oversight of the policies, processes and systems employed by Par-Four. His responsibilities include budgeting, tax and audit oversight, middle and back office management, data development for risk management, systems administration and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining Par-Four in 2004, Mr. Labrenz was employed by Paloma Partners Management Company, the Investment Manager to a diversified multi-strategy hedge fund, as a Divisional Vice President in their Portfolio Accounting Department. He brings an extensive understanding of the accounting practices, policies and operational procedures currently employed in the hedge fund industry. While at Paloma, Mr. Labrenz managed a team of eight accountants who oversaw the books and records of multiple trading groups. Mr. Labrenz brings with him a broad understanding of trading strategies covering capital structure arbitrage, distressed, global convertible arbitrage, statistical arbitrage, risk arbitrage, volatility arbitrage, fixed income and stock loan. Mr. Labrenz graduated with honors from Mount Saint Mary College in 1995.
Mr. Gorczyca is the Portfolio Manager for the Firm’s CLOs and Fund strategies. Dennis initially served as a senior credit analyst focused on high yield, leveraged loan, and distressed issuers and borrowers. Prior to joining Par-Four in 2011, Dennis was an asset management consultant at Fortress Investment Group where he evaluated leveraged loans and private equity investments for the legacy D.B. Zwirn portfolio.
Prior to Fortress, Dennis was an Associate at Bear Stearns Merchant Banking where his responsibilities included financial analysis, due diligence and valuation of private equity opportunities within the Bear Growth Capital Partners (BGCP) group. Before joining BGCP, Mr. Gorczyca was an investment banking analyst at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. within the Global Industries Group. Mr. Gorczyca graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bucknell University in 2004 with a B.S. in Business Administration and earned his MBA with a concentration in Finance and Investing in 2011 from Columbia Business School.
Ms. Milacci assists the portfolio manager with various monitoring and tracking of the portfolios. In addition, she is responsible for all aspects of the operations function for the CLO, including trustee interface, trade settlement, CLO compliance (pre and post trade), and trustee reports.
Prior to joining Par-Four in 2006, Ms. Milacci spent eight years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (“MLIM”), most recently in the role of bank loan and high yield bond trader for the Global High Yield Bond and Bank Debt Group. Prior to that, she was a specialist in Portfolio Administration in support of the CLO effort. She joined MLIM in 1998, working in Mutual Fund Accounting concentrating on bank loans, high yield bonds and mortgage backed securities. She is a 1998 graduate from Allentown College of St. Francis de Sales where she earned a B.S. in Finance and Accounting.
Mr. Bailey is a Credit Analyst focused on high yield, leveraged loan and distressed issuers and borrowers. He utilizes his legal expertise in analysis of structure, covenants, inter-creditor agreements, etc. Prior to joining Par-Four in 2003, Mr. Bailey was a Principal with ORIX Merchant Banking LLC, a publicly traded finance entity. There, he invested primarily in Distressed Debt, Mezzanine, and High Yield Special Situations. Prior to joining ORIX, Mr. Bailey was employed by American International Group as a Director managing a large portfolio of securities and accounting liability claims.
Mr. Bailey began his career at the law firms of Willke, Farr & Gallagher, and Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett. As an attorney, Mr. Bailey’s background includes litigating bankruptcy claims and advising financial institutions, broker dealers, and hedge funds on bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Mr. Bailey received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982, and earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1985.
Mr. Byrne is a Credit Analyst focused on high yield, leveraged loan and distressed issuers and borrowers. Prior to joining Par-Four in 2003, Mr. Byrne served as a Director at ORIX Merchant Banking LLC, where he focused on investing in distressed, mezzanine and high yield special situations. His responsibilities included financial analysis, due diligence and application of valuation methodology.
Prior to joining ORIX, Mr. Byrne served as an Investment Banking Analyst at Ryan, Beck & Company where he developed financial models and provided advice on leveraged M&A transactions. Mr. Byrne began his career at American International Group as an Analyst in the Financial Institutions Division, where he performed credit research and detailed underwriting risk. Mr. Byrne received his Bachelor of Finance from Fordham University in 1990 and earned his M.B.A. from Pace University in 1993.
Mr. Venkatachalam is a Credit Analyst focused on high yield, leveraged loan and distressed issuers and borrowers. Before joining Par-Four in 2014, Mr. Venkatachalam was a Senior Investment Analyst with Loews Corporation where he was the lead credit analyst for various industrial sectors. Prior to Loews, Mr. Venkatachalam was with Gordian Group, where he played an integral part in numerous middle-market restructurings and bankruptcies.
Mr. Venkatachalam began his career with Chase Manhattan Bank, where he was formally credit trained and involved in the structuring and issuance of asset-backed securities. Mr. Venkatachalam received a B.Sc. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1996 and earned his MBA from Columbia Business School in 2001.
Mr. Meyer joined the Firm in July 2019 He is a Credit Analyst focused on high yield, leveraged loan and distressed issuers and borrowers. Prior to joining Par-Four, Mr. Meyer worked for Schroders Investment Management interning in the firm’s Emerging Market Debt division. There, his primary responsibilities included financial analysis, financial modeling, and monitoring fund performance. He graduated from Villanova University in 2019 with a B.B.A. in Finance, Accounting, and International Business.
Mr. McGlynn is the Firm’s trader and is responsible for executing trades across all asset types for each of the funds managed by the Firm. Prior to joining Par-Four in 2003, Mr. McGlynn served ten years at Greenwich Street Advisors/Smith Barney Asset Management, most recently as a High Yield Trader. As a Vice President there, Mr. McGlynn developed and maintained solid working relationships with all sell-side institutions and performed numerous high yield and distressed executions on a daily basis. In addition, he generated reports on the portfolio performance and comparisons to the High Yield Indices. Mr. McGlynn began his career in 1992 at Smith Barney Asset Management as an Accountant for the Fund Administration Group. He earned his B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Scranton in 1991.
Mark Olson is a Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations at Par-Four. His primary responsibilities include marketing our funds to potential investors and maintaining relationships with our current clients. Prior to joining Par-Four, Mark founded and built his own third party marketing firm, Boutique Asset Manager Distribution Consultants. From 2006 to 2018 he was employed by Envestnet as a Regional Director distributing SMAs, UMAs, and Model Portfolios to financial advisors.
Mark began his career at Morgan Stanley in Fixed Income Sales. Additionally, he held marketing and sales positions at Reuters, Instinet, and DWS. Mark graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1982 with B.S. in Business Administration.
Ms. Hampton joined the Par-Four team in September 2015, supporting the Middle Office. Her primary function is to run the day-to-day operations of the team and assist the CLO Specialist and Portfolio Manager. Prior to joining Par-Four, Silveria was an Analyst at Barclays Capital in the Fixed Income Division from 2008 to 2014. Prior to joining Barclays, Silveria was employed as an Institutional Sales Assistant for the High Yield Desk at Lehman Brothers from 1995 to 2008. Silveria began her career in the financial service industry at Kidder Peabody in 1990. Ms. Hampton holds an Associate degree in Liberal Arts from Iona College.
Ms. McGonigle joined the Par-Four team in September 2004. In her current role she supports the Middle Office and Finance functions. Prior to joining Par-Four, Ms. McGonigle was employed by Lehman Brothers as an eCommerce Project Manager in its Private Client Services Division, where she designed and implemented web-based applications for use by salespeople and clients, and created web-based and hard-copy client marketing. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Ms. McGonigle was employed as Director of Operations at Enhance Financial Services Group, a financial guaranty insurance company, and as an Accountant at Deloitte & Touche in its Audit Group. Ms. McGonigle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Siena College with a BBA in Accounting and a concentration in Computer Science.
Ms. Miller joined the Par-Four team in November 2006. She currently supports the Middle Office and Compliance efforts. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Miller was a Vice President at Lehman Brothers in its Private Client Services Division. While at Lehman Brothers, Ms. Miller worked directly with senior management on key strategic issues including product economics, market statistics and integration of acquired businesses. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Ms. Miller was employed as a Senior Accountant at International Flavors and Fragrances, a global creator and manufacturer of flavors and fragrances, and as a Senior Accountant/CPA at Price Waterhouse in its Audit Group. Ms. Miller graduated Cum Laude from Siena College with a BBA in Accounting.
